Who are we?

On the following page we would like to show you who we are and point out how we may be of value to you.

We, members of the combined "Dutch Hervormd-Gereformeerde Kerk van Brielle", like to be one Parish, being people who believe in the one God, Who has introduced Himself through Jesus Christ, and Who will inspire us by his Spirit to become followers of Christ, each of us with his own talents.

We meet God and each other every Sunday in Saint Catharine's . We search for inspiration and encouragement by the word of God, from our singing and praying . From there we fulfill our task again, to the situation we are placed in, in word and act.

From our weekly worship we realize we're part of a greater entity, part of a much greater circle of believers of all times and places of the Church.

We also choose to promote  Oecumene and therefore we participate wholeheartedly in the Brielle Council of Churches. Being part of these greater entities charges us with responsibilities: He who wants to propagate God's love as to promote the solidarity between people will have to take position. Especially to everything that opposes God's name, or shatters His creation. In the first place we want to do this by listening carefully in our neighbourhood, to remain on speaking terms with each other, to respect each other, to help each other and to care for each other.

You may become  acquainted with  our regular activities. We take you for a roundtour through Saint Catharine's. Every month we publish our church magazine, which is enclosed in this website (in  Dutch). This website has been active from September 2002. Every suggestion for improvement is very welcome through our guestbook. Please let us hear from you, where ever you are in the world!
